Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the work of Giridih-Koderma rail line is incomplete which was to be completed prior to 31 March, 2016;
(b) if so, the details thereof along with the present status of the project; and
(c) the time by which it is likely to be completed?

(a) to (c): Koderma-Kawar (87 km) section out of Giridih-Koderma (111 km) new line project has been completed and commissioned. Completion of remaining Kawar-Maheshmunda (24 km) section has been delayed due to non-acquisition of land from State Government of Jharkhand. The State Government has been requested for early handing over of requisite land to Railway.
In view of land issue, target date of completion of whole project is not fixed.
