(a): Prasar Bharati has informed that presently, there are 16 AIR stations functioning in the State of Gujarat at Ahmedabad, Ahwa, Bhuj, Godhra, Himmatnagar, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara, Mehsana, Bhavnagar, Amreli, Bharuch, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Dwarka and Junagarh.
(b) & (c): Prasar Bharati is providing radio coverage to most of the areas including rural areas of Gujarat. To improve the radio signals in various parts of Gujarat, Prasar Bharati has implemented the replacement of outlived MW transmitters by state-of-the-art digital transmitters at Ahmedabad and Rajkot. Replacement and upgradation of FM transmitters at Ahmedabad and Godhra has also been implemented.
In addition to above, a 10 kW FM station with studio facility at Dahod and 100 W FM transmitters at 10 locations have also been approved.
