Question : Women in CAPFs

(a) the details and number of women working in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), force-wise including Central Industrial Security Force (CISF);

(b) whether there is negligible presence of women in CAPF including CISF and if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government proposes to increase the number of women in CAPF including CISF and if so, the details thereof, force-wise;

(d) whether it is a fact that the Government has taken a decision to include 20 per cent women in CAPFs and if so, the details thereof; and

(e) the percentage of women deployed in CAPFs at present, the details thereof, force-wise?

(a) to (e): The posted strength and percentage of women personnel in CAPFs including CISF as on 31.12.2021 is given in Annexure.

It has been decided to reserve 33% posts at Constable level for being filled by women in CRPF & CISF to begin with and 14-15% posts at Constable level in border guarding forces i.e. BSF, SSB & ITBP.
