(a) whether the Government has received a representation of Kerala Employment
Guarantee Council to the effect that 14 new items of work to be added to
schedule 1 para (1) of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee
Scheme (MGNREGS), 2005; and
(b) if so, the details thereof and action taken by the Government thereon?

(a)&(b): Yes, Sir. Proposal from the State Government of Kerala forwarding
recommendations by Kerala Employment Guarantee Council for inclusion of new items
of work in para (1) of Schedule - I of the Mahatma Gandhi NREG Act has been received
in the Ministry. As per the proposal received was not in conformity with the
MGNREGA Operational Guidelines for inclusion of new items of work under the Act, it
has been returned to the State Government.
