Question : SECURITY ON MYANMAR BORDER

(a) whether the Government of India and Myanmar have reviewed the progress made in the implementation of measures for ensuring security along the borders of both the countries;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether any proposal for combating insurgency along the borders of both the countries has been received from Myanmar Government;

(d) if so, the details in this regard; and

(e) the reaction of the Government thereto?

(a)&(b): Yes, Sir. The security concerns, along the border of both the countries are reviewed periodically at the National level, Sectoral level and Army Commanders` meetings held alternatively in either country.

(c): No, Sir.

(d)&(e): Does not arise in view of reply to (c) above.
