(a) to (d): No, Madam. The role of Delhi Police with regard to illegal construction is only to inform the land owning agencies i.e. Delhi Municipal Corporations (erstwhile MCD), DDA etc. as and when any unauthorized construction is noticed.
However, during the last three years and current year (upto 15.02.2015), the details of such intimations sent to Delhi Municipal Corporations (erstwhile MCD) and other concerned civic agencies by Delhi Police regarding illegal constructions and encroachment are as under:

Delhi Police also takes action to stop construction and seize construction material after receiving notice from MCD under Section 344(2) of DMC Act. However, as and when any complaint is received against any police personnel, prompt action is taken if it is found substantiated. The details of complaints received and action taken against Delhi Police personnel against whom allegations of inaction/allowing illegal construction were substantiated during the year 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 (upto 15.02.2015) may be seen at Annexure-‘A’.
(e) & (f): In this regard, a helpline No.1064/ 1800111064 and mobile No.9810641064 have been started for the public to lodge complaints against police personnel. However, as and when any complaint is received against any police official, a prompt inquiry is conducted by Delhi Police and if substantiated, necessary disciplinary action is initiated.
(g): The following corrective steps have been taken by Delhi Police to specify the actions to be taken by Delhi Police in the event of illegal constructions:
(i) Briefing the Division/Beat level officers not to indulge in such activities;
(ii) Wide publicity through mass media is given for general public regarding the role of police being limited only to intimate the concerned agency in construction related matters;
(iii) Helpline No.1064/1800111064 and mobile No. 9810641064 have been started to lodge complaints against Police personnel in this regard; and
(iv) Strict departmental action is taken against erring police officers who are found involved in such malpractices.Download PDF Files
