THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (DR. SHAKEEL AHMAD)

(a) & (b) Yes, Sir. The village-wise details are as under:-

(i) Pateria, Sagouni: There is a paid demand of 79 connections. Efforts are being made to provide Wireless in Local Loop (WLL) connections by planning new Code Division Multiplex Access(CDMA) Cor-DECT equipment.

(ii) Samnapur: WLL coverage is available in this area. Few connections on WLL have been provided to the willing applicants but public is demanding land line connection. Connections on WLL are feasible.

(iii) Rajpura: There is a paid demand of 23 connections. WLL coverage from HATTA Base Transmitting Station (BTS) is not available because of hilly terrain. However, a Cor-DECT system is being planned for coverage of these villages.

(c) & (d) As per the plan of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), all Short Distance Charging Areas (SDCAs) are being provided with WLL equipment. However, there has been some delay in supply of Fixed Wired Terminals due to court case.
