(a) whether the Government is contemplating any proposal with regard to granting permission to the State Governments to employ women in factories in night shifts, and if so, the details thereof;
(b) the number of States where the said arrangement is in force;
(c) whether the Union Government has issued any guidelines for providing security to women employees in night shifts;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) if not, the reasons therefor and the reaction of the Government thereto?

(a): The Factories (amendment) Bill, 2014has been introduced in the Lok Sabha on 07.08.2014 wherein Government has proposed to amend Section 66(1)(b) of the Factories Act, 1948, thereby permitting woman worker to work in the night shift with provision of adequate safeguards to their safety in the workplace and during transit to home.
(b): The information is not readily available.
(c) to (e): Further, no guidelines have been issued regarding providing security to woman in night shift under the Factories Act, 1948.
