Question : Six Laning of National Highway in Gujarat

(a) whether National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is planning for six laning of National Highway connecting Somnath and Dwarka, if so, the details thereof; and;

(b) whether the NHAI would take into consideration the pilgrimage value of both these places and traffic in the area and build six lane Highway instead of four lane, if so, the timeframe to complete this highway project and also present status of four laning of Kodinar to Veraval section and Bhavnagar to Talaja section in Gujarat?

(a) No Madam, NHAI has planned for four laning / 2 lane with paved shoulder of Somnath (Gadu) - Dwarka Section of NH-8E. The details are as under:

(b) Gadu to Porbander section is proposed for widening to two-lane with paved shoulder and Porbander to Dwarka section is proposed for four laning based on traffic. It is too early to indicate timeframe for completion of this project.
