(a) whether Bihar has not been included so far in the Development of Solar Cities scheme;
(b) if so, the details thereof along with the reasons therefor; and
(c) the time by which Bihar is likely to be included in the said scheme meant for development of solar cities?

(a) to (c) The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy under its scheme ‘Development of Solar Cities’ had accorded ‘in-principle’ approval for development of Gaya in Bihar as a Solar City. This scheme got over in March, 2017 with the completion of 12th Plan and, hence, no further cities can be sanctioned in Bihar under this scheme.
