Question : Investment in Power Projects

(a) whether the Union Government have invested in power projects in various States including Uttar Pradesh;

(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise and project-wise; and

(c) the details of funds invested by the Government during the last two years, project-wise and State/UT-wise?

(a) to (c) : The Central Government invests in power projects through Central Public Sector Undertakings(CPSUs). The details of thermal, hydro and transmission projects implemented by power sector CPSUs and their joint ventures in the years 2015-16 and 2016-17 are given at Annex-I.

The Central Government provides assistance to the State for strengthening of the distribution system through Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS), Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme (R APDRP) and Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY). The details of disbursement, state-wise, including Uttar Pradesh, during the last two years, under IPDS and R APDRP are given at Annex-II and under DDUGJY at Annex-III respectively.
