(a) whether the Government proposes to construct a bypass along National Highway No. 28 in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the time by which the construction work of the above bypass is likely to start?

(a) and (b) Yes, Sir. A bypass on NH-28 in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh has been proposed
to take off at km.251.70 of NH-28 and again it meets at km. 279.80. An agreement for construction of
the bypass on Build Operate and Transfer (BOT-Annuity) basis has already been signed with the concessionaire.
(c) The work is targeted to be started by April, 2007.
