Question : RENOVATION OF PROHM TEMPLES



(a)whether the Government has signed an agreement with Cambodia for restoration of Prohm Temples, part of the 1000 year old legacy of Angkor Vat;

(b)whether the restoration work has been assigned to Archaeological Survey of India (ASI); and

(c)if so, the details of the restoration project and the estimated cost thereof?

(a) & (b)(c)The Royal Government of Cambodia has signed an agreement with the Republic of India under which the conservation & restoration of the TA Prohm Group of Temples in Siem Reap Cambodia is to be taken up by the Archaeological Survey of India. As per the Preliminary Project Report the tentative cost of the project is Rs. 19.57 crores spread over 6 phases of two working seasons each.
