(a) whether any measures or efforts are being taken by the Government to develop an indigenous Air Traffic Management System by the Airports Authority of India in collaboration with Bharat Electronics Limited and if so, the details thereof; and
(b) the extent to which the said agreement or effort is likely to be effective under AtmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan?

(a): Yes, Sir. Airports Authority of India has entered into an agreement with Bharat Electronics Limited on 24th March, 2022 for the collaborative development of an indigenous Air Traffic Management (ATM) Automation System and Airport Surface Movement & Guidance Control System.;
(b): The above effort is in line with making India self-reliant while modernising and expanding the ATM Automation Systems infrastructure within India. This initiative is expected to reduce foreign dependence of India for such systems, develop technical capabilities within India and save foreign reserves.
