Due to low international prices of wheat millers / traders in Southern States have imported large quantity during 2015-16.
(d): Custom duty on wheat import has been imposed @ 10% w.e.f. 7.8.2015 and it was raised to 25% w.e.f. 19.10.2015. As per provisional figures available, there has been no import of wheat during current year till May, 2016.
