Question : DENIAL OF FITNESS TO TRAVEL ABROAD



(a) whether the Government has received any complaint regarding the denial of medical fitness certificate for a visually impaired dance troupe for travelling abroad and if so, the facts and reasons therefor;

(b) whether the Gulf Co-operation Council rules do not permit visually impaired cultural groups to perform in Gulf countries;

(c) if so, whether the matter has been taken up with the authorities concerned; and

(d) if so, the details and outcome thereof?

(a) No complaint has been received regarding the denial of medical fitness certificate for a visually impaired dance troupe for travelling abroad. ICCR does not issue any medical fitness certificate to the artistes it sends abroad for giving performances.

(b) The Council is not aware whether or not Gulf Co-operation Council rules permit visually impaired cultural groups to perform in Gulf countries.

(c) & (d) Does not arise.
