(a) the details of the big and medium industrial units established in Government sector, State-wise;
(b) the number of export - oriented units among them;
(c) whether the Government proposes to establish some more export-oriented units; and
(d) if so, the details of the programme made for this financial year in this regard?

(a) to (d): The information on the investment intentions which includes industrial units for
the period 2003-04 to September, 2007 (State wise), available from the Department of
Industrial Policy and Promotion has been furnished in the annex.
The Government does not set up Export Oriented Units (EOUs). The units are set up by the
private individuals / corporate bodies with the approval of the Government. There are 2408
EOUs working in the country as on 31st October, 2007.
