(a) The ongoing afforestation programmes, schemes and projects are reviewed periodically for the entire country, including Maharashtra.
(b) & (c) Details of central assistance (CA) allocated, released and utilised along with physical achievements, year-wise, scheme-wise, for the last three years, and amount allocated for 2000-01, for Maharashtra under the afforestation schemes of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, are given in Annexure.
(d) Maharashtra Forestry Project - Phase II titled `Natural Forest Management Project` has been forwarded to the World Bank for possible external assistance. Area proposed to be covered under this project is 2.34 million hectares, which is about 42% of the forest area of the State, with an investment of 599.30 crore over 7 years.
