(a) whether it is proposed to set up a task force to review all schemes under the Union Government for the benefit of Women and Children;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the time by which the said task force is likely to be set up;
(d) whether the Government propose to prepare a Memorandum of Understanding with State Governments for the development of Women and Children; and
(e) if so, the details in this regard?

(a),(b)&(c): There is a proposal to set up a Task Force to
review all legislations and Government schemes pertaining to
the role of women in the national economy. It would help to
chalk out specific programmes for observing 2001 as “Women’s
Empowerment Yearâ€. Details are being finalised shortly.
