(a) whether the Ministry have launched a Low Cost Sanitation Scheme for the conversion of dry latrines into low cost pour flush latrines;
(b) if so, the States where such scheme has been launched;
(c) whether the scheme has also been launched in Madhya Pradesh;
(d) if not, whether any such scheme is proposed to be launched in that State; and
(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a): Yes, Sir.
(b): This Scheme has been launched in 21 States and one U.T.,
viz. States of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh,
Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya
Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manupur, Meghalaya, Orissa, Punjab, Tamil
Nadu, Tripura, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, West
Bengal and UT of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

(d): Not Applicable.
(e): In Madhya Pradesh, 34 schemes have been sanctioned under
Low Cost Sanitation Scheme at a project cost of Rs.7061.00 lakhs
involving Government of India subsidy of Rs.3142.78 lakhs and
HUDCO loan of Rs.3509.53 lakhs for construction/conversion of
272957 units in 288 towns envisaging liberation of 7510
scavengers.
