(a) the present status of the postal life insurance policy in rural areas in the country, State/UT-wise including Karnataka;
(b) the details of claims of insurance policy pending in various post offices as on date, State/UT-wise; and
(c) the action taken by the Government to clear the pendency?

(a) Madam, the present status of rural postal life insurance policies in the country is placed at Annexure ‘A’.
(b) The details of pending claims in respect of postal life insurance and rural postal life insurance in various post offices as on date, is placed at Annexure ‘B’.
(c) Receipt and disposal of claim cases is a continuous process. The following actions are taken to settle claims promptly:
(i) Indexing and monitoring through centralized Customer Care Centre.
(ii) Regular review at various levels to expedite settlement of the claims.
(iii) Monitoring disposal of claim cases.
