Question : Beautification of Tourist Spots and Temples in Bansgaon

(a) whether it was proposed by the Government to carry out beautification of tourist spots and several years old historical places and ancient temples in Parliamentary Constituency of Bansgaon, Uttar Pradesh as mentioned by the ex-Union Minister of Tourism and Culture, Dr. Mahesh Sharma in his address to public meeting;
(b) whether beautification of tourist spots and ancient temples like the Shaheed Smarak located near Barhaj Vidhan Sabha, Dudheshwar Nath Temple located near Rudrapur Vidhan Sabha, Ramjanki Temple Pakkaghat Gola Bazaar located near Chillupar Vidhan Sabha and Bhalua Baba Temple, Kauri Ram located near Bansgaon Vidhan Sabha; and
(c) the time by which the said work is likely to be carried out?

(a) to (c): Ministry of Tourism under Swadesh Darshan Scheme provides financial assistance to State Governments/UT Administrations/Central Agencies for development of tourism infrastructure and facilities in the country. The projects under the scheme are identified for development in consultation with the State Governments/Union Territory Administrations and are sanctioned subject to availability of funds, submission of suitable Detailed Project Reports, adherence to scheme guidelines and utilization of funds released earlier.

Ministry has sanctioned funds to the tune of Rs.3.0 crore for development of Dudheshwar Nath Temple under the project Development of Spiritual Circuit: Bijnor- Meerut- Kanpur- Kanpur Dehat- Banda- Ghazipur- Salempur- Ghosi- Balia- Ambedkar Nagar- Aligarh- Fatehpur- Deoria- Mahoba- Sonbhadra- Chandauli- Mishrikh- Bhadohi in Uttar Pradesh during 2016-17 for Rs.63.77 crore.

Ministry has not sanctioned any project for development of Shaheed Smarak located near Barhaj Vidhan Sabha, Ramjanki Temple Pakkaghat Gola Bazaar located near Chillupar Vidhan Sabha and Bhalua Baba Temple, Kauri Ram located near Bansgaon Vidhan Sabha.

The project has registered 70% physical progress as on date.
