Question : Wi-Fi at Stations

(a) whether the Government is planning to introduce Wi-Fi services at all railway stations of the country in the next three to four years;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the time by which Wi-Fi services are likely to be provided by the Government at all railway stations of Chhattisgarh and at Etawah railway station; and

(d) the number of railway stations in which Wi-Fi service has been provided by the Government so far, along with the details thereof?

(a) & (b): Yes, Sir. Indian Railways have decided to provide Wi-Fi services at all Railway stations (except F category halt stations) over Indian Railways.

(c): Wi-Fi services have been provided at 103 Railway Stations out of 116 Stations (excluding halt stations) in the State of Chhattisgarh upto 20th November 2019. At 13 feasible stations in the State, the services are targeted to be provided by 31st March, 2020.
Wi-Fi service at Etawah Railway Station is functional since 30th August, 2017.

(d): Wi-Fi services have been provided at 5444 stations upto 20th November, 2019. Zone-wise details are appended.
