Question : Homoeopathic Medical College

Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state:

(a) the total number of homoeopathic medical colleges across the country along with the number of seats allotted to each homoeopathic college, State-wise;

(b) the total number of Government hospitals across the country wherein services of homoeopathic doctors are available;

(c) the number of Government homoeopathic pharmacy institutes across the country along with contribution of the Government to such homoeopathic pharmacy institutes during the last five years and the future target decided in this regard; and

(d) whether the Government is contemplating to set up B.Pharma (homoeopathic) colleges on the lines of existing B.Pharma Colleges across the country?

ANSWER

(a): At present, there are total 245 homoeopathic medical colleges with attached Hospitals running across the country. The State/Union Territory – wise list along with the number of seats allotted to each homoeopathic medical college is placed in the website of the Ministry of AYUSH , i.e. ayush.gov.in
(b): There are 232 Government hospitals across the country wherein services of homoeopathic doctors are available.
(c) & (d): At present, the pharmacy education in Homoeopathy is not governed by the Ministry of AYUSH.
However, the Ministry is in the process of introducing the “Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy Pharmacy Bill 2018” which shall regulate the education and practice in Homoeopathy Pharmacy.
