Question : India Post Payment Bank

(a) the salient features of India post payments bank;

(b) the amount sanctioned, allocated and utilised in Rajasthan so far under this scheme, district-wise;

(c) the district-wise details of the rural areas covered and remains to be covered in Rajasthan so far under this scheme; and

(d) whether the Government has fixed any target under the scheme, if so, the details thereof and the time by which the target is likely to be achieved?

(a) India Post Payment Bank is a scheduled payments bank offering a range of products such as savings and current accounts, remittances and money transfer, direct benefit transfers, bill and utility payments, enterprise & merchant payments and Aadhar Enabled Payment System (AePS). These products, and related services, are being offered across multiple channels (Counter Services, Micro-ATM, Mobile Banking App, SMS and IVR, and at the doorstep).
(b) to (d) Funds under this scheme have been allocated centrally towards establishing the India Post Payments Bank and not State/ District wise. However, details of rural areas in Rajasthan covered by IPPB banking services either through access points or through doorstep banking service is at Annexure-I. The scheme target of setting up of India Post Payment Bank has been achieved by launching of the Payment Bank and setting up of 650 branches along with their access points.
