(a) whether the Government has decided to release Rs. 12230 crore to the States that will take care of pending wage liability for 2015-16 under MGNREGS;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether it is also true that the Government has decided to maintain a 60:40 wage material ratio at district level to ensure creation of good quality assets in rural areas; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a)&(b): The Ministry has released Rs. 2914117.44 lakh (as on 22.07.2016) to the States/UTs during current Financial Year (FY) 2016-17 to clear the pending liabilities (wage & material component) for the FY 2015-16 and implementation of the Scheme for the FY 2016-17. State/UT-wise release position is at Annexure.
(c)&(d): Yes, Madam. Para 20 of the Act read as “For all works taken up under the Scheme, by Gram Panchayat and other implementing agencies, the cost of the material component including the wages of the skilled and semi-skilled workers, shall not exceed forty percent at the district level.”
