(a) whether the Government has any proposal to bifurcate the Bokajan Cement Factory in Assam from CCI and making it as a separate independent unit.
(b) if so, the details in this regard;
(c) whether the Government has any plan to expand and modernize the Bokajan Cement Factory, with a view to increase its productivity;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) if not, the reasons therefore?

(a) to (e): Cement Corporation of India Ltd. (CCI) has been declared sick on 8th August, 1996 by the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR). BIFR vide its letter dated 11.11.2004 has directed IFCI, the Operating Agency to prepare and submit a Draft Rehabilitation Scheme (DRS) in respect of CCI as a whole.
