(a) whether the Railways have conducted any survey for connecting border area town named ‘Sanchore’ in the Jalore district in Rajasthan with railway network of the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof along with the total estimated cost of the said project; and
(c) the time by which it is likely to be implemented?

(a): Yes, Madam.
(b)&(c): A survey for connecting border areas of Rajasthan from Santalpur- Suigam via Sanchore, Radhanpur was completed in the year 2012-13. As per the survey report, cost of the 80.75 km. long new line project was assessed as Rs. 370.71 crore (2012-13 price level) with a negative Rate of Return of 759%. Due to unremunerative nature of the project, it has not been taken forward.
