In order to publicise and propagate the new technology and benefits of the researches being conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research including its Institutes to the farmers, various measures were adopted as follows:

- Established 261 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVK) with the State Agricultural Universities (SAU), ICAR Institutes and Non-Government organizations (NGO). The activities of KVK include on-farm testing to establish location specificity of technology, frontline demonstration to establish its production potentials on the farmers` plots, training of farmers to update their knowledge, and training of in-service personnel to orient them in the frontier areas of technology.

- The Council have also strengthened the existing Zonal Agricultural Research Stations (ZARS) to take up the additional functions of KVK in 53 districts where there is no KVK.

- The Council have sanctioned for establishment of 40 Agricultural Technology Information Centres (ATIC) with the selected SAUs and ICAR Institutes to provide a single window support system for availability of technology products, information and services to the farmers.

- A programme on Technology Assessment and Refinement through Institution-Village Linkage Programme (IVLP) has been launched by the council in 70 centres of ICAR Institutes and SAUs.
