(a) whether Government of Gujarat had sent proposals to the Union Government for realignment
of Narol-Naroda section and re-surfacing of Vadodara-Surat section of National Highway No.8;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether re-routing of Narol-Naroda section and re-surfacing of Vadodara-Surat section is under consideration of the union Government;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the time-frame fixed for the same?

(a) to (e) No proposal for re-alignment of Narol-Naroda section of NH-8 has been received
in the Ministry from the Government of Gujarat. Six laning of National Highway No.8 between
Vadodara to Surat is under implementation under National Highway Development Project (NHDP)
Phase V on Build, Operate and Tranfer (BOT) basis. Re-surfacing of Vadodara-Surat section
of NH-8 will be done by the BOT Concessionaires as a part of the six laning work.
The project is targeted for completion by July, 2009.
