Question : Air Accidents

(a) the details of the passengers wounded/killed in air crash or at airports during the last three years and the current year, year-wise;

(b) the details of the situations leading to these accidents;

(c) the compensation provided to the next of kith and kin of the deceased passengers during the said period; and

(d) the details of the medical benefits being provided at all airports and in flights?

(a) During the years 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 (till 09.08.2016) a total of 33 persons have received fatal injuries/ wounds in Air Accidents. Year wise breakup is as below
Year 2013 - 08
Year 2014 - 01
Year 2015 - 24
Year 2016 - 00

(b) & (c) Details of accidents along with compensation to kith and kin of the deceased persons during the period from 2013 to till date are given at Annexure-A.

(d) (i) For in flight medical benefits, cabin crews are trained to provide first aid to passengers as per the guidelines given in cabin safety circular 01/2016, available at DGCA website (www.dgca.nic.in).

(ii) At all airports, medical and first aid facilities are available.
