Question : Funds to Jammu and Kashmir

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) the total fund allotted to the Jammu and Kashmir under various Centrally Sponsored Schemes during the last three years along with the details of utilisation of these funds;

(b) the number of major health institutions both in Government and private sectors functional in Jammu and Kashmir; and

(c) whether Government proposes to open medical college in Ladakh region and if so, the details thereof?

(a): National Health Mission (NHM) is the flagship Centrally Sponsored Health Scheme of the Ministry under which technical and financial support is extended to States /UTs to strengthen their health-care systems so as to provide universal access to equitable, affordable and quality healthcare services.

A statement showing details of funds released and utilised during the last three years are at Annexure-I.

Apart from the NHM, there are other Centrally Sponsored Schemes being implemented in the Ministry, details of which are at Annexure-II

(b): Details of major health institutions functional in Jammu and Kashmir State, both in Government and Private sectors, are as under:
