Question : PROCUREMENT OF FOODGRAINS



(a) the quantity of foodgrains procured directly from the farmers during the last three years along with their procurement price;

(b) the quantity and value of foodgrains, out of the above, imported during the said period, country- wise; and

(c) the total value of the foodgrains exported during the said period?

(a) The quantity of wheat and rice procured for Central Pool by Government agencies/ FCI during the last three years and current year are as under:

The said food grains are procured at Minimum Support Price (MSP) from farmers directly/ through Co-opera- tive Societies/Arhatiyas/Self Help Groups by Gove- rnment procuring agencies.

The MSP of paddy and wheat fixed by Govt. of India during last three years are as under :

(b): There has been no import of foodgrains during last three years on Government account.

(c): There has been no export of rice during last three years. However, a quantity of 57.98 lakh MT of wheat has been exported during the last three years at average freight on board rate of 303.35 US Dollar per MT
