Question : India-Sehat Scheme

(a) whether any initiative for healthcare namely India-Sehat Scheme has been launched in the recent past;
(b) if so, the details and the salient features thereof;
(c) the details of the fund allocated, released, spent so far on the Sehat Healthcare initiatives in various States ; and
(d) the name of the States in which it has been implemented?

Answer given by the minister


(a) and (b): Government is implementing the Common Services Centre (CSC) Scheme with an objective to deliver Government to Citizen (G2C) and Business to Citizen (B2C) to the rural citizens. The Scheme is being implemented by CSC Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV). As a part of the activities of CSC SPV, an initiative called Social Endeavour in Healthcare and Telemedicine (SEHAT) has been launched in August 2015.

The salient features of this initiative are to provide rural healthcare services like telemedicine and teleconsultation. These telemedicine consultations have been started from central CSC Portal.

(c): No funds have been allocated for SEHAT separately.

(d): The SEHAT initiative has been implemented by some of the CSCs in the States/ Union Territories like Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
