Question : CGHS Dispensaries and Empanelled Hospitals

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) the total number of Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) dispensaries in the country, State/UT-wise;

(b) whether the Government proposes to include those private hospitals under the CGHS which are presently not included under it;

(c) if so, the details thereof, State/ UT-wise;

(d) the total number of cities/areas in Uttar Pradesh where there are no CGHS dispensaries, if so, the reasons therefor; and

(e) whether the Government proposes to formulate any scheme to set up new CGHS dispensaries?

(a): Statement showing State/UT-wise number of Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) Wellness Centre is at Annexure.

(b) & (c): Empanelment of private hospitals under CGHS is a continuous process. Interested hospitals voluntarily apply for empanelment under CGHS in CGHS covered cities. The eligible hospitals fulfilling the terms and conditions of empanelment are considered for empanelment under CGHS.

(d): Cities/ areas other than Noida, Greater Noida, Indirapuram, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Agra, Aligarh, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, Baghpat, Moradabad, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Saharanpur and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh are not covered under CGHS. As per existing norms, there has to be a minimum of 6000 Card holders for extension of CGHS to a new City.

(e): At present, there is no such proposal.
