Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS AND MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PERSONNEL, PUBLIC GRIEVANCES AND PENSIONS. (SHRI HARIN PATHAK)

(a) & (b) : For the items where DGS&D have rate contract, Kendriya Bhandar insists on the supplier matching the same price and a small margin is added to meet its office expenses and employees` wages. Where there is no DGS&D rate contract Kendriya Bhandar makes efforts to get most competitive price by:

(i) buying directly from the manufacturer wherever possible;

(ii) calling for quotations from registered suppliers;

(iii) obtaining a price gurantee undertaking not to sell at a lower price from the supplier.

(c) to (h): The Central Vigilance Commission has also, inter-alia, suggested a review of O.M.dated 14.7.1981. The matter is under consideration of Government.
