Question : VISIT OF RAILWAY OFFICERS AT PROJECT SITES



(a) whether senior Railway officials are not visiting any project of work in the field;

(b) whether any specific directions have been given to senior officers at Divisional level to make minimum number of field trips, giving duration and distance to be covered every month;

(c) if so, the details of such stipulations;

(d) whether senior Railway officials have also been instructed to use the Railways for travel; and

(e) if so, the details of such policies to enhance contact between senior officials and technical and field staff?

(a) : No, Sir. Senior officials are periodically visiting construction project sites.

(b) & (c) : No such specific guidelines have been issued for project sites. However, the officers at Divisional level conduct regular inspections of the project works as per the requirement and progress of work.

(d) & (e) : The construction projects are inspected by suitable mode of transport as per the convenience, availability and requirement. During inspections and otherwise, there is adequate contact between the officers and the field staff.
