(c) & (d): On the basis of feasibility to construct fence, the Government has sanctioned construction of 340.00 km of border fencing in the State of Gujarat, out of which the fencing work to the extent of about 264 km has been completed. Due to the extreme nature of topography, the fencing and its foundation is prone to corrosion by the salty water and heavy inundation because of which some parts of the fencing have deteriorated. Maintenance of fencing is a continuous process. The maintenance of fence is entrusted to Border Security Force(BSF) which carries out the maintenance works of damaged/deteriorated fence.

(e): It may take about 36 months for completion of the balance works in feasible area depending on the climatic condition.
