Question : Fee Waiver by NCPCR

(a) whether National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has proposed fee waiver for a year for the children of farmers who have affected by crop failure;
(b) if so, the details ;
(c) whether the other related ministries have also been consulted in this regard;
(d) if so, the details ;
(e) the other measures being initiated by the Commission for the welfare of children of the drought hit farmers?

(a) & (b) Yes, Sir. In view of the unseasonal rain and hailstorm in the first week of March, 2016 in North, Western and Central India; based on the provisions provided under Section 13 (d) of the Commissions for Protection of Child Rights Act,2005, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has written to the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) to reimburse the fee and to provide entitlements to the children of the farmers especially small farmers under section 12 (1) (c) of the RTE Act,2009.

(c): No, Sir.

(d): Question does not arise in light of the above.

(e): Nil.
