(a) whether Indian Space Programmes have been affected by the sanctions imposed by the United States of America against India in the wake of nuclear tests;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether any satellite has been launched by India after imposition of such sanctions; and

(a)&(b) No, Sir. There have been only marginal effects on the Indian space programme
in terms of schedule and cost over-run due to the sanctions imposed by the United States of
America against India.
(c) Yes, Sir.
(d) INSAT-2E was launched on the Ariane launch vehicle in April, 1999 and IRS-P4
(Oceansat-1) on the PSLV in May, 1999.
