Question : REVENUE FROM TICKETED MONUMENTS



(a) the amount of total revenue collection from the ticketed monuments protected by the Government during each of the last three years;

(b) whether the Government is considering to include more monuments in the protected list;

(c) if so, the details State-wise; and

(d) the financial assistance provided to States for the protection of the monuments?

(a) The details of revenue collected as entrance fee at centrally protected monuments during the last three years are as under:



2003-04 Rs.4359.88 lakhs 2004-05 Rs.5289.47 lakhs 2005-06 Rs.5391.06 lakhs


(b)&(c) Archaeological Survey of India is in the process of issuing final notification for protection of the following monuments:

1. Hanuman Temple Complex, Connaught Place, Delhi.

2. Gumti of Shaikh Ali at Defence Colony, Delhi.

3. Kala Gumbad, Pragati village, Delhi.

4. Shikargah, Jaunti village, Delhi

5. Narsinghgarh Fort (Madhya Pradesh)

6. Sthalasayanaperumal Temple, (Tamilnadu)

7. Gompas & Other historical remains adjoining to Leh Palace, Leh, Ladakh,

(Jammu and Kashmir)

8. Siva Temple complex, Pallimanah, Trissur (Kerala)

(d) Archaeological Survey of India does not extend financial assistance to the States for protection of the monuments.
