Question : CGHS Dispensaries

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government is constructing new Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) Dispensaries in the country, including Karnataka and Delhi NCR, to meet the growing number of Central Government employees, if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise with the present status of construction;

(b) whether sufficient funds are allocated for construction of buildings for the CGHS and Wellness Centres, if so, the details of funds allocated, State-wise;

(c) whether the Government is monitoring the performances of retired doctors employed in CGHS Dispensaries and if so, the details thereof; and

(d) whether the Government is planning to recruit new doctors for CGHS Dispensaries, if so, the details thereof?

ANSWER

(a): 15 buildings for CGHS wellness centres are under construction in CGHS Delhi. Construction is at various stages.

(b): Sufficient funds are available. Funds under Capital Head are not allocated State-wise and are released by Dte. of CGHS for construction of buildings on need basis.

(c): The performance of retired doctors employed in CGHS dispensaries is monitored by Additional Directors / Zonal Additional Directors of concerned CGHS cities.

(d): Recruitment of doctors is done through UPSC on regular basis.
