(a)to (c) :As per the information furnished by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), there is a demand for technical manpower both within the country and in the global market. AICTE accords approval for establishment of new technical institutes based on such demand and as supported by respective State Governments. Further, the recent expansion in technical education has been largely in the emerging areas of technology such as Electronics, Information Technology and Bio- Technology, keeping pace with the global trend. Of late, major employment opportunities have been in these emerging areas of Technology particularly Information Technology. With a view to promote entrepreneurship among students and to promote the concept of ‘Job Providers rather than Job Seekers’, AICTE is operating a scheme, namely, ‘Entrepreneurship and Management Development Programme’.
