Question : Yoga and Naturopathy

Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state:

(a) the details of the ongoing schemes to give impetus to Yoga and Naturopathy;

(b) the funds allocated for development of Yoga and Naturopathy during each of the last five years and the current year along with the details of targets set and achievements made so far in this regard;

(c) whether Yoga Centres are being run under a pilot project in rural areas of the country including Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, if so, the details thereof;

(d) whether the Government proposes to open Yoga Centres and Naturopathy Centres in various parts of the country particularly in rural regions; and

(e) if so, the details thereof, State/UTwise along with the time by which the said centres would likely to be opened?

(a): The details of on-going schemes of Ministry of AYUSH to give impetus to Yoga and Naturopathy in the country can be summarized under following broad headings:
a. National AYUSH Mission (NAM) which includes programmes for Yoga.
b. Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy (CCRYN), New Delhi.
c. Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, New Delhi
d. National Institute of Naturopathy, Pune.

(d) & (e): Ministry of AYUSH through its subordinate organizations proposes to set up the following Institutes/ Hospitals:
i). Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy (CCRYN) proposed to establish 2 Institutes of Yoga and Naturopathy with 200 bedded Hospital – one at Nagamangala, Karnataka and another at Devarkhana, Jhajjar, Bahadurgarh, Haryana.
It also proposes to establish Central Research Institutes in the states of Odisha, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh also.
ii). National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN) Pune has a proposal to establish Nisarg Gram Project- Naturopathy Hospital (250 beds initially which will be extended to 500 beds), Medical College (UG-BNYS, PG, Ph.D., Fellowships, Paramedical Courses), Research Unit and Gandhi Memorial at Yewalewadi, Talkuka-Haveli, Maharashtra.
