Question : Skill Training in Aviation Sector

(a) whether the Airport Authority of India (AAI) has entered into partnership with the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) to impart skill training to youths in the aviation sector;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the number of youths who got trained and the quantum of funds released to CIDC for the purpose;

(c) whether job opportunities for those who complete the training have been given priority and if so, the details thereof;

(d) whether AAI also entered into a tripartite agreement with National Skill Development Fund and National Skill Development Corporation for imparting skill training to the youths in the country; and

(e) if so, the details thereof along with the financial support extended during the last three years and the current year?

(a) & (b) Yes, Sir. Airport Authority of India (AAI) has entered into partnership with the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) to impart skill training to youths in the aviation sector. Over the past four years, 4047 candidates have been trained in the said skill training programmes and 911 are being trained in the said undergoing skill training programme. A sum of INR 29.07 crore has been released by AAI to the CIDC.

(c) Yes, Sir. The youth trained under the skill training programmes have been provided job opportunities. Out of the total trained candidates under the skill training programmes, 60 percent candidates have been employed in various job roles.

(d) & (e) Yes, Sir. AAI has signed two tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Skill Development Fund and National Skill Development Corporation for setting up multi skill development centres. Over 1600 candidates have been trained in the training centres. For setting up multi skill development centre, INR 3.82 crore has been paid out of the total budget of INR 7.25 crore as on date.
