MINISTER OF MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES (SHRI KALRAJ MISHRA)
(a) to (c): The micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector is a heterogeneous sector, both in terms of size of enterprises and its sectoral composition. The State Governments are primarily responsible for promoting and supporting MSMEs. However, the Central Government supports and supplements the efforts of the State Governments through implementation of various schemes / programmes relating to credit, infrastructure development, technology upgradation, marketing, entrepreneurial / skill development, etc. This is a continuous process. The major schemes implemented by the Ministry of MSME to promote and support the MSME sector are: National Manufacturing Competitiveness Programme, Credit Guarantee Scheme, Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme, Performance and Credit Rating Scheme, Cluster Development Programme and Prime Minister’s Employment Generation programme.
