Question : Discussion with Neighbouring Countries

(a) the outcome of discussion of N. S. A. Chief with his counterparts in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan;

(b) whether Pakistan has approved India’s proposal for transporting 50,000 M. Tons of wheat to Afghanistan through the land route which passes through Pakistan for the humanitarian aid for the people of Afghanistan; and

(c) if so, the security measures adopted by the Government in this regard?

(a) The outcome of the discussions between the National Security Adviser of India and his counterparts in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan was the further strengthening of mutual cooperation in the different areas of security, as well as mutual agreement on common threats from terrorism and radicalisation.

(b) & (c) In view of the humanitarian requirement of the people of Afghanistan, India offered 50,000 MT of wheat and life saving drugs as assistance to the people of Afghanistan to be provided urgently through land route via Pakistan. In this regard, we made a request to Pakistani side in October 2021, and a conditional response from Pakistan has been received on November 23, 2021.
