Question : Skill Training to Unemployed Youths

(a) the names of schemes presently being run by the Union Government for providing skill training to the unemployed youths in the urban and rural areas of the country;

(b) the number of persons who have been provided benefits of these schemes and the number of youths to whom employment opportunities have been made available during the last two years along with the details in this regard including Dawa and Ganganagar district of Rajasthan;

(c) whether the Union Government has formulated any future roadmap related to these schemes; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

Answer given by the minister

(a) to (d) Government have been implementing various schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), Craftsmen Training Scheme, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) and Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs) , for providing skill development training to the prospective youth of the country both in urban and rural areas. Under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY 2.0) 2016-20, short term skill training is provided to the prospective youth of the country including Rajasthan. As on 17.01.2020, under the scheme PMKVY 2.0, 73.47 lakhs and 16.61 lakhs candidates have been trained and placed respectively; out of which, 6.43 lakhs and 1.33 lakhs candidates have been trained and placed in the State of Rajasthan. The scheme of Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) for skill development is being implemented through its institutional framework in the country with the objective to improve the occupational skills and technical knowledge of the non/neo literates in the age group of 15-45 years primarily living in rural and urban slum areas. Under the JSS scheme, as on 06.03.2020, 5.54 lakhs candidates have been enrolled during the last two years.

Under Craftsmen Training Scheme, Directorate General of Training offers long term vocational training in 137 NSQF compliant trades. Number of persons benefited under the scheme CTS during last two years are given below.

Under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) scheme of Ministry of Rural Development, 5.86 lakhs candidates have been trained and 3.51 lakhs have been placed between 2017-20. Dawa is a village under Nokha tehsil of Bikaner District and the village wise data under DDU-GKY is not maintained. The candidates trained and placed in the district Ganganagar are 888 and 386 respectively. Under Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs) scheme of Ministry of Rural Development, 11.87 lakhs candidates have been trained and 8.83 lakhs have been placed in the period 2017-20. Out of them, 2188 and 1835 candidates have been trained and placed in the district of Ganganagar.
