Question : INDUSTRIAL DISPUTES



(a) whether the Government has taken note of the recent spurt in industrial disputes and violence in the country;

(b) if so, the number and details of such disputes during each of the last three years and the current year along with the reason for the disputes;

(c) whether poor working condition of the industrial workforce in the country is also a reason for the spurt;

(d) if so, whether the Government is considering labour law reforms in the wake of changing employment scenario in the country; and

(e) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b): The number of Industrial Disputes raised in the Central sphere during the year 2011-2012, 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 (April to September) shows the normal trend and no spurt. A statement indicating the number of disputes raised during this period in placed at Annexure.

(c) to (e): Does not arise in view of reply to (a) & (b) above.
