(a) The details of foreign aided drinking water and sanitation projects under implementation indicating the funds provided and the status of each of these projects is given at Annexure I. In addition, a World Bank project to support the ongoing sanitation programme Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) [SBM(G)] has been approved in principle by the Ministry on 5th May, 2015 for the entire country with a financial envelope of US$1.5 billion (Rs.9500 core) over five years. The Ministry of Finance has recommended the proposal on 9.7.2015 and the World Bank on 10-7-2015 has accepted the request of Ministry of Finance. The Project will support the ongoing SBM (G) programme by incentivizing the states based on their performance.
(b) & (c) Yes, Madam. The states of Kerala, Madhya Pradesh Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Meghalaya have submitted proposals to this Ministry seeking foreign assistance for providing safe drinking water in their States .The details of the projects is at Annexure-II.
(d) The Ministry does not maintains coverage of rural population with drinking water supply in terms of households. Additional population planned to be covered with projects under implementation and new project proposals are at Annexure-I and Annexure-II respectively.
